Cool and Calm

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran) 3:159
And by the Mercy of Allâh, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh¬hearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their faults), and ask (Allâh's) Forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allâh, certainly, Allâh loves those who put their trust (in Him).

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran) 3:153
(And remember) when you ran away (dreadfully) without even casting a side glance at anyone, and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) was in your rear calling you back. There did Allâh give you one distress after another by way of requital to teach you not to grieve for that which had escaped you, nor for that which had befallen you. And Allâh is Well¬Aware of all that you do.

Al-Hadid (Iron) 57:23
In order that you may not grieve at the things that you fail to get, nor rejoice over that which has been given to you. And Allâh likes not prideful boasters.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s Visit to Taif
Headed by Jibril, and with permission from the Almighty, the angels rushed next to the Prophet -upon him blessings and peace-:

“Say the word and we shall destroy that tribe!” they said.
But despite the vicious treatment he had received, the Prophet of Compassion -upon him blessings and peace- still only had good wishes in his heart, as he turned to the gates of heaven:

“Allah! I only submit to you my own vulnerability; that I have lost strength and have been ridiculed…

O the Most Compassionate! If you are not angry with me, I will not in the least worry for the troubles I have undergone!

Allah! Guide this tribe, for they do not know.

Allah! I seek your forgiveness, only for your sake!”

The Old Woman Who Threw Rubbish There lived an old woman in Mecca who did not like the Prophet Muhammad much at all. Every day as Muhammad passed the old woman’s house on his way to pray, she would throw rubbish out of her window onto his head. Yet Muhammad would never complain. He would simply continue on his journey as if nothing had happened.

The Prophet (s) said, Today is the day of mercy. Today is the day God makes Quraysh faithful and honorable."

Then, the Prophet (s) ordered Imam 'Ali (a) to take the banner from Sa'd b. 'Ubada.

After the conquest of Mecca, the Prophet (s) stood at the door of Ka'ba and granted an amnesty for all. He turned to the elders of Quraysh and said, "What do you say now?" They said, "Goodness! You are our brother and nephew who has come to power." The Prophet (s) said,

"But I say what my brother Joseph (a) told his brothers; that today you are not admonished (criticized, reprimanded). May God forgive you for He is the most Merciful of all the merciful."

Tulaqa' Group: Abu Sufyan and others who were embraced in the mercy of the Prophet (s) were called Tulaqa' (meaning "the freed") after the saying of the Prophet (s) when he (s) said, "What do you think I would do with you?" They said, "Goodness! You are a benevolent brother, son of a benevolent brother." The Prophet (s) said, "Go for you are the freed."

Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.

Words Can Build or Ruin, Words Can Be Stinky or Honorable

What comes out is what’s inside. The same logic applies to you: when someone squeezes you, puts pressure on you, or says something unflattering or critical, and out of you comes anger, hatred, bitterness, tension, depression, or anxiety, that is what’s inside.
