Laugh Little, Cry More

An-Nisa (The Women) 4:148

لاَّ يُحِبُّ اللّهُ الْجَهْرَ بِالسُّوَءِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ إِلاَّ مَن ظُلِمَ وَكَانَ اللّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا

Allah SWT does not like any evil to be mentioned openly, unless it be by him who has been wronged (thereby) And God is indeed all-hearing, all-knowing,

At-Tauba (The Repentance) 9:82

فَلْيَضْحَكُواْ قَلِيلاً وَلْيَبْكُواْ كَثِيرًا جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ

Let them, then, laugh a little -.for they will weep a lot in return for what they have earned.

At-Tauba (The Repentance) 9:78-82

فَلَمَّاۤ اٰتٰٮهُمۡ مِّنۡ فَضۡلِهٖ بَخِلُوۡا بِهٖ وَتَوَلَّوْا وَّهُمۡ مُّعۡرِضُوۡنَ‏ ﴿76﴾  فَاَعۡقَبَهُمۡ نِفَاقًا فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ اِلٰى يَوۡمِ يَلۡقَوۡنَهٗ بِمَاۤ اَخۡلَفُوا اللّٰهَ مَا وَعَدُوۡهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوۡا يَكۡذِبُوۡنَ‏ ﴿77﴾  اَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعۡلَمُ سِرَّهُمۡ وَنَجۡوٰٮهُمۡ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلَّامُ الۡغُيُوۡبِ‌ ۚ‏ ﴿78﴾  اَلَّذِيۡنَ يَلۡمِزُوۡنَ الۡمُطَّوِّعِيۡنَ مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ فِى الصَّدَقٰتِ وَالَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَجِدُوۡنَ اِلَّا جُهۡدَهُمۡ فَيَسۡخَرُوۡنَ مِنۡهُمۡؕ سَخِرَ اللّٰهُ مِنۡهُمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِيۡمٌ‏ ﴿79﴾  اِسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ اَوۡ لَا تَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡؕ اِنۡ تَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ سَبۡعِيۡنَ مَرَّةً فَلَنۡ يَّغۡفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمۡ‌ؕ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمۡ كَفَرُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوۡلِهٖ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهۡدِى الۡقَوۡمَ الۡفٰسِقِيۡنَ‏ ﴿80﴾  فَرِحَ الۡمُخَلَّفُوۡنَ بِمَقۡعَدِهِمۡ خِلٰفَ رَسُوۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَكَرِهُوۡۤا اَنۡ يُّجَاهِدُوۡا بِاَمۡوَالِهِمۡ وَاَنۡفُسِهِمۡ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَقَالُوۡا لَا تَنۡفِرُوۡا فِى الۡحَـرِّؕ قُلۡ نَارُ جَهَـنَّمَ اَشَدُّ حَرًّا‌ؕ لَوۡ كَانُوۡا يَفۡقَهُوۡنَ‏ ﴿81﴾  فَلۡيَـضۡحَكُوۡا قَلِيۡلاً وَّلۡيَبۡكُوۡا كَثِيۡرًا‌ ۚ جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ‏ ﴿82﴾

Then when He gave them of His Bounty, they became niggardly [refused to pay the Sadaqâh (Zakât or voluntary charity)], and turned away, averse. (76) So He punished them by putting hypocrisy into their hearts till the Day whereon they shall meet Him, because they broke that (covenant with Allâh) which they had promised to Him and because they used to tell lies. (77) Know they not that Allâh knows their secret ideas, and their Najwa[] (secret counsels), and that Allâh is the All-Knower of the unseen. (78) Those who defame such of the believers who give charity (in Allâh's Cause) voluntarily, and such who could not find to give charity (in Allâh's Cause) except what is available to them, so they mock at them (believers), Allâh will throw back their mockery on them, and they shall have a painful torment. (79) Whether you (O Muhammad SAW) ask forgiveness for them (hypocrites) or ask not forgiveness for them … (and even) if you ask seventy times for their forgiveness … Allâh will not forgive them, because they have disbelieved in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW). And Allâh guides not those people who are Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). (80) Those who stayed away (from Tabuk expedition) rejoiced in their staying behind the Messenger of Allâh; they hated to strive and fight with their properties and their lives in the Cause of Allâh, and they said: "March not forth in the heat." Say: "The Fire of Hell is more intense in heat", if only they could understand! (81) So let them laugh a little and (they will) cry much as a recompense of what they used to earn (by committing sins). (82)

پھر جب الله نے اپنے فضل سے دیا تو اس میں بخل کرنے لگے اورمنہ موڑ کر پھر بیٹھے (76) تو نتیجہ یہ ہوا کہ اس دن تک الله سے ملیں گے الله نے ان کے دلوں میں نفاق پیدا کر دیا اس لیے کہ انہوں نے جو الله سے وعدہ کیا تھا اسے پورا نہ کیا اوروہ اس لیے جھوٹ بولا کرتے تھے (77) کیا وہ نہیں جانتے کہ الله ان کا بھید اور ان کا مشورہ جانتا ہے اوریہ کہ الله غیب کی باتیں جاننے والا ہے (78) وہ لوگ جو ان مسلمانوں پر طعن کرتے ہیں جودل کھول کر خیرات کرتے ہیں اور جو لوگ اپنی محنت کے سوا طاقت نہیں رکھتے پھر ان پر ٹھٹھا کرتے ہیں الله ان سے ٹھٹھا کرتا ہے اوران کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے (79) تو اُن کے لیے بخشش مانگ یا نہ مانگ اگر تو اُن کے لیے ستر دفعہ بھی بخشش مانگے گا تو بھی الله انہیں ہر گز نہیں بخشے گا یہ اس لیے کہ انہوں نے الله اور اس کے رسول سےکفر کیا اور الله نافرمانوں کو راستہ نہیں دکھاتا (80) جو لوگ پیچھے رہ گئے وہ رسول الله کی مرضی کے خلاف بیٹھ رہنے سے خوش ہوتے ہیں اوراس بات کو ناپسند کیا کہ اپنے مالوں اور جانوں سے الله کی راہ میں جہاد کریں اور کہا گرمی میں مت نکلو کہہ دو کہ دوزخ کی آگ کہیں زیادہ گرم ہے کاش یہ سمجھ سکتے (81) سووہ تھوڑا سا ہنسیں اور زیادہ روئیں ان کے اعمال کے بدلے جو کرتے رہے ہیں (82)
