Death and Life

The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.

Some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live.

Death is like a mirror in which the true meaning of life is reflected.

Death anxiety is greater in those who feel they have lived an unfulfilled life.

For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.

Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it.

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.

It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.

The more you transform your life from the material to the spiritual domain, the less you become afraid of death. A person who lives a truly spiritual life has no fear of death.

I would rather die a meaningful death than to live a meaningless life.

When people don’t express themselves, they die one piece at a time.

Death is a challenge. It tells us not to waste time.

Die happily and look forward to taking up a new and better form. Like the sun, only when you set in the west can you rise in the east.

Death never takes the wise man by surprise, he is always ready to go.

Losing your life is not the worst thing that can happen. The worst thing is to lose your reason for living.

If you live each day as it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.

Life and death are one thread, the same line viewed from different sides.

All good is hard. All evil is easy. Dying, losing, cheating, and mediocrity is easy. Stay away from easy.

A man with outward courage dares to die; a man with inner courage dares to live.

Anything I’ve done that was ultimately worthwhile initially scared me to death.

Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one’s head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forget life, to be at peace.

If you really want to be transformed, you have to live an intentional life. This is so simple. I don't want you to miss it.
Most people don't lead their life; they accept their life and when you accept your life, you are living on things that are not worthy of your time and effort and energy.
To go uphill, you have to be intentional. Nobody ever went uphill by accident.
You have never read a book on accidental achievements. You have to be intentional with what you do and who you are.

There is no intrinsic meaning to life. It's not the same thing as saying life is meaningless. You, as the existentialists used to teach. You have to find your project. You have to find out what gets you up in the morning. You have to give your life meaning and you have to do it yourself. If you wait for other people to do it, you will live an invalid life. It won't be your life. You'll be leading other people's life. So, what is my meaning? Why do I do this? Human beings suffer. That's what it is to be alive, is to suffer. Anything that a person can do to alleviate the suffering in others, is a good thing, a positive thing, a meaningful thing. Stories do exactly that. They make life livable.
